Nice helping of theory and functional use!
Robert, I agree with Clayton. Great lesson on the mixolydian mode and thank you for giving a lot of information on mixolydian 3rds and the comparison of the mixolydian mode with the minor pentatonic. Very cool licks!
And you talked about the 12th street special overdrive pedal from KOamps designed with input from you. That’s good because I was looking for my first overdrive pedal for several weeks and couldn’t make a decision. Now I heared the 12th street special and I like this low gain pedal with a tonal character very much – and I’ve ordered it. Kevin O‘Reilly was very hepful to prepare an invoice for shipping to Switzerland.

Thanks for the feedback! I expect you will enjoy that pedal, Birgit. It's quite versatile and works great for blues and rock.
That 12th Street video has some searing blues playing.
The 12th street special overdrive pedal has arrived, 2 ½ weeks earlier than announced 👍 .
Until now I made only a few settings, damn well ! So many settings to explore. Very versatile, I’m really happy, has exceeded my expectations. I’ll present it in my next practice log.
I sent a big thank you to Kevin.
And thanks a lot, Robert, for your presentation.

Nice! It will help with getting some sustain!
Try a few different approaches and see what works for you.
1) keeping the gain low - tone high
2) keeping the volume high - gain low
3) keeping the volume and tone 75% of max - gain low
4) keeping the gain 50-80 % of max, tone neutral or to taste, and volume around halfway (50%) or lower (try around 40% too).
When the volume knob is turned up and gain low, it works more like a boost. You get a "HOT" signal into your amp, and depending the amp, it can work really well (or it can sound terrible if you are using a solid state amp).
