I'm excited for the opportunity to help you improve.
These video responses are available here.
What you need to do is this:
- Record yourself playing something that you want my feedback on.
- Upload it to youtube. You can set it to be an unlisted video if you want. That will make it so it won't be found in youtube searches.
- Create a topic here and paste the youtube URL into the post, and tell me what you want my feedback on. My website will turn the URL into an embedded video.
That's it. I'll reply back with a video of my own.
You can use something basic for the video; perhaps your cell phone or tablet. The visual aspect is important - especially when it comes to technique issues - for me to better help you.
I want you to be aware that this is not a one-on-one scenario. Your video and my reply will be available to all MGA members , because I KNOW it's very helpful for all of us to learn from each other. Don't be shy about putting yourself out there. You've got to do it. That is the BEST WAY to get to where you want to be as a player. We are support group of people here, and we will inspire each other by sharing our accomplishments.
Let's go!
One-on-One video review and response? Wow, that's a cool offer and special opportunity, RR. MGA membership benefits just jumped up a level.
I made this a few months or more ago with no effects or gain. I will make a new vid after I get comfortable with Bar Blues, thx for any and all feedback.
Great to hear you play WoodyLeduc!
Create a new topic with your video if you want to submit it as a Student Focus video for me to critique - https://www.masterguitaracademy.com/forums/student-focus/ and if possible, add a question or specific thing you want me to give you feedback on.
Awesome - just awesome that we have this opportunity and Woody posted a 12 bar blues video. Woody, hats off to you, Sir. Repost it into a new topic and let's hear from The Master of the Academy.
Ok who is next? Start a new thread with your video and I'll give you some tips!

Am trying to submit a video on the jazz-blues-bebop side of things as explained in the video lesson I was learning the lick/riff from. I don’t really know what I’m doing in my effort to submit a video of me playing, and am not sure if I’ve done things correctly…?? 🤷♂️ … but I’m trying… ALSO … just added a 2nd 8 bar blues video I worked on last month….

If you post your video to youtube and paste the link from it in here, it will make the video show up.
That was great! What solo are you learning from? It sounded great to me.
So, over a month ago I started working on this 8 bar slow blues solo. It’s from a Jeff McErlain instruction video/truefire. Is similar to your style of instruction, cool licks, riffs, music notation, tab, and tune with all abilities to loop parts, & slow down parts to learn licks/etc. (of which I pretty much use all the assists I can get!) - and of course I spend a good bit of time working tune/licks up to par I would call it. Daily repetition, & I try to go musical phrase by phrase…& memorize by repetition…
Please upload videos to youtube and share the link here. I am running out of space and I have to remove videos from the forum.
