Here is a solo Ive written trying to apply many of the concepts offered here at MGA. Eg, following chord tones, triplets, patterns, using space, and some tasty Renman licks.
Feedback appreciated.
Craig, I’m so lucky to beginn a new day with your new song.
„Soulful and sweet“, I can agree to that right away. Such a great composition. This time a softer tone. Following the chord tones makes the song expressive and sweet at the same time.
I love your triplet runs ending with a touching bend vibrato!
A great deal of work and effort, also for the video design. I had to watch the video several times to discover - besides the music - all the details. Wonderful.
And a great tribute to Robert’s work.
I’m delighted, Birgit
Craig, I forgot to add a special note from a beginner point of view: I’m impressed how easy you are moving up and down the fretboard. Looks like a flow. That’s what I have to work on over the next years.
That is oozing soul like mud between my toes after a spring rain or a walk along the river bank. Craig that was just beautiful the way you let that solo breathe and build gently, and then rode it out on a tremolo wave.
Birgit is right, this is wonderful to have your tune starting my day.
Like I just had a private viewing at the Art Gallery just listening to that vibe with the sun on my back and cat at my feet.
What a great masterpiece Craig.
Love this so much! 👍
Sweet lord! I will study it closer and provide more feedback.
Hare Rama!
@bluesiline Hi Birgit, yes many hours work has gone into this one. Ive always had an interest in video creation. Im very pleased you enjoyed it.
As you stated, fret board knowledge is essential.
I found this to be helpful

BTW I have been watching and listening to your progress. Very nice! Keep at it.
You have a passion.
Stay awesome!, Craig
@clayton Hay bro, I always love your responses.
You have the heart of a poet!. So glad you enjoyed it.
It always surprises me how music is created. I never really go into a new piece with any true form in mind. Then after a while something just switches on and harmony ensues.
🤓
Thank you, Craig, for your encouraging words.
And it’s so good that you mentioned Robert‘s lesson „Fretboard Finding Fun“. I use it in combination with the other lesson „How to learn the notes on the fretboard“.
I can only agree with you, highly recommendable for everyone who gets lost on the fretboard.
Enjoy your playing,
Birgit
Too Kind, my brother, you are too kind, and I would love to pen some lyrics but that style of inference is beyond me. Now that guitar playing of yours was poetry.
