Totally on the spot improvisation after listening to a few of Roberts various licks and tracks in various keys. Taken a few ideas and made them my own.
There are a few goof-ups as is typical with my live playing as I tend to get adventurous and experimental. There were a few completely new phrases which is always goooood.
Any feedback would be unreal! Ideas? timing? structure? articulation?? That's why we are here.
Well Craig, that was absolutely awesome.
Your timing and articulation are spot on as far as I’m concerned. What I’d like to know more about is your thought process as you’re playing through the changes?
I can hear and feel the motif/phrasing you use throughout the progression. Are you thinking scales, chord tones, arpeggios or simply ear training to manipulate your way around the neck the way you do. You seem to be totally comfortable and in complete control on improvising what you’re hearing in your head.
Great playing, feel and emotion. Love your style. Really looking forward to hearing more of that!

Hi Ivan,
Thanks.
I'm basically just listening and experimenting over a very familiar basic scale then building on it, occasionally I will flash remember a lick or phrase that I have been wanting to try. Sometimes its like 'the muse" takes over and its all feeling. Hours and hours of practice then 5 minutes of bliss and the rest of the day in nagging self doubt!! I listen to it over and over and become super critical. It never comes out as good as I hoped! Always wanting more. Ha!!
Don't beat yourself up Craig ya done great. Nice job, very well done. Nice Suhr too BTW
Thanks Chris, part of my nature to be critical I'm Afraid.
Yeah the Suhr is a wonder of modern tech, fairly new. Had it about a month.
I really enjoyed watching the video as much as listening- really nice laid back approach and moving to the music. Good rockin!
It's certainly a pleasure to have you added onto the MGA. And there's nothing I could add as a critique other than to let the Master RR give his wisdom.
Thanks Clayton,
For me - groovin' to the music helps get inside the notes.
Great to be here on MGA.
Very nice, Craig! I think this would be a good Student Focus video for this month... agreed?
Yes please Robert, greatly looking forward to your guiding wisdom.

Words to live by, Craig. You gotta move to the music your making or nothin will be shak'n. RR just included this in his last Student Focus as well. Get moving, get your body in time!
Looks like we'll have to revive the online jam for this fall.
And Yes, Robert, I was hoping you'd give Craig the Master's focus.
