If I’ve done this correctly; I made a completely spontaneous, off the cuff jamm attempt to Robert’s ‘Thrill is Gone’ backing track… about 2 weeks ago when I had a few days off, now finally getting around to try & post it… Hope this works. Any feedback will be appreciated…🤷‍♂️🤔🎶

Sincerely, Vince.   P/S (this is the only way I can figure out how to present any of my self made video recordings)….

@myvinmus

Vince, thank you so much for sharing the video 😊. We are all empathetic listeners and viewers here and we know exactly how much stamina it needs to make and present a recording.

But you can only get feedback and learn from it if you present yourself.

Robert is always helpful and will definitely give you good advice on your video and you will benefit from it.

From my side, I would maybe comment on whether you have a light source nearby to show off you and your beautiful guitar better?

Keep playing and have fun,

Birgit

I hear you Birgit! I am now living in a Class C RV in order to work the season in Alaska & the lighting is difficult. Putting on the lights makes my iPhone screen pick up too much light and ruins the look way worse than the darker background. I will work to improve it as best I can… Also, my lack of computer tech ‘know how’ impede’s my uploading/downloading my video’s & I’m not sure they come across as best as possible. On my end after they are posted and I replay them, they don’t play continuously as they should. After the 1st 30 seconds or so the video starts stuttering along w/many interruptions. Is discouraging to me. At some point maybe I can find a knowledgeable friend who will help me with the computer technology of posting on this site.

Thanks for posting! Sounds cool with that nylon string. 2 things:

1. I think you were lost in the progression in the beginning, but you caught up later on. To fix that, you can practice strumming along with the chords. It's very important to know where you are in the progression at all times. Tap your foot and count the bars as you play: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ETC and change the chords according the chord progression. As you start soloing, pay close attention to the track and the chords and anticipipate the chords changing.

I now noticed that I didn't post the chord progression, but here it is:

Bm | Bm | Bm | Bm
Em | Em | Bm | Bm
 G | F#7 | Bm | Bm

2. I need everyone to NOT upload videos here because my storage space on the server is almost full. Instead, upload the videos to YouTube and then share the link here.

It's really quite simple. Sign up at youtube.com and upload your video. Set it to Unlisted and then share the link.

Birgit, I think you had a nice step by step write up but I couldn't find it. Maybe you can post those steps if you have them handy?

Vince, could you redo the videos you uploaded here and share them via youtube instead? I have to remove the videos on this forum as my hosting company is sending me threatening emails.

Vince, I’ve written down the order for you here.

Please follow:

1 Sign in Youtube

2 Click on the „+“ symbol (to the left of your Youtube Account)

3 Click "upload video“

4 Select a file

5 Wait until the video is uploaded. May take a while! Then on the right side you find the video and the related video link.

6 Click now on the „save“ button

7 Then you see the video link again (in blue pattern). Right next to it there is a rectangle. Click on it and your video is copied to the clipboard.

8 Click on « close » and you can see all your uploaded videos.

9 Then go to MGA forum, go to your new post and click paste (« ctrl V » or your shortcut) because your video link is in the clipboard.

10 The video link is now visible in your post.

11 If you now click on « add reply » the video will be visible in your MGA post.

If you don’t want that your video is visible to all on Youtube you can make a choice before you « save » your video on your Youtube channel (see point 6 in my list)

Click on „visibility“ in the upper line

Click on: „no, not especially for children“

Then click on „visibility“ again and you have a choice between «private» «not listed»  or «open to public». Select «not listed».

Hope it helps,

Birgit

Really like this one Vince.
And how nice that sound is on the nylon strings.

@myvinmus Great! As mentioned, I need to delete your videos due to lack of space but I can wait until you get them on youtube. Will that work?

Hello All! …. This is Vince of VinMus. I see Robert is on vacation (as he should be) I’m hard at work though this is my season to make $$$$ so I have limited time to practice & play and have fun w/music. Just wanted to ‘check in’… I’m still here and practicing/playing on my few days off that I get. I’ve been working on the Jazz Solo/02,trying to get it ‘down’ real good with the back-up chord progression rhythm lick 2 (with the ii V I) in it. - Also I’ve started a new tune to work on…. The ‘Green Onions’ tune/rhythm & solo #1, which I really like the way Robert does it and teaches it. The solo has some great licks in it, and I’m working on getting them up to speed… (in my limited practice time🤷‍♂️) Having fun though when I do play. Hang in there til’ Robert gets back, keep on truck’n & practicing….!!🎶 Regards, Vince
