Robert
I mentioned awhile ago that I was going to start working on rhythm so here is my first student focus recording. I've been working on Comping the Blues 1 using the 9th and 13th chords lesson. I've been working on this for about two months now and this is probably the best I'm going to get it for now. The groove is different than yours but I played it to tempo....110 bpm. I normally use a 1mm pick but I can't seem to keep it in my fingers. So I tried numerous thickness and the one that stays in my fingers the longest and sounds best without to much unwanted string noise is a 0.38 mm. That's what I'm using in this video. I was mostly concentrating on time, keeping my strumming hand moving and muting unwanted strings.
I think I'll be moving on to Comping the Blues 2 while I wait for your reply. Looking forward to your feedback on what I can do to improve my rhythm playing. I hope the video and tone are ok. If not let me know if I need to change anything.
Thanks.

Not sure what’s going on with the double posts?
Hmmm, I missed this post while sailing the Equator this summer. Ivan, that's a really nice job on those comping chords!
Thanks Clayton....
You know how important rhythm playing is in my book- keep up the good stuff, Brother!

Well played Ivan, I love this style.
