Here's an acoustic  blues number I threw together.  Experimenting with a new synth called 'dimension' to do the keyboard and dulcimer stuff. ( I don't play keyboard as will be obvious!). The guitar comes in around the 2 minute mark.

Hey Craig. You certainly are a busy guy in the studio.

Very nice recording. Cool arrangement with the added keyboard and effects. Especially like the acoustic solo. Has a cool major tone/feel to it....I think?

You’re really pushing the envelope with your recording skills and knowledge which sets a great example to aspire to here at MGA. Thanks for sharing......

That is great! Nice phrasing!

Ivan, he plays mostly the minor blues scale. Sometimes highlighting the major 3rds for each of the chords, now and then.

How did you create the backing track?

Indeed.  Really nice country feel with those slides, bends and subtle vibrato.

That rhythm progression always pulls my ear to Pusherman, but your country solo style put it back into Austin and Nashville with a hint o' Stones.

Hey everyone,  many thanks for all the positive vibes.
Clayton,  I'm not familiar with the Pusherman reference?

Robert, I created the backing track in Cakewalk Sonar firstly selecting a drum beat loop that went with
my acoustic rhythm guitar.
The rhythm guitar was recorded DI.
Then I played and recorded an electric bass track using the zoom H1.
Then the dulcimer on the "Dimension" Synth plug-in.

I recorded 12 bars of the above then looped it for the backing track.
The honky-tonk piano came next also on the synth,
and finally the acoustic solo guitar. 🙂

How do you play the synth? Midi keyboard or using the mouse?

I use a midi keyboard. Then edit it in SONAR with a mouse.  Really great to be able to move notes around with the click of a mouse as I do tend to make mistakes with the keyboard!
