I'm just into learning blues rhythms at this point in my playing. I know that most of us, including myself have always dreamed of playing lead. But, I want to start over fresh at my old age and just focus on learning blues rhythms. Where 🤔 should I start? I feel like I'm spinning in circles 🔵. Anyone have any 👍 good ideas?
Aaron
Aaron,
Having a plan and direction is likely half of the battle so congratulations on finding a good direction and putting together a plan.
It can be hard to advise someone about what they should be working on, especially being unfamiliar with their playing and specifics about what styles that are interested in.
If you were brave enough to post a video of your playing, I think Robert would likely be very happy to review it with you and make some constructive suggestions. Believe me everyone here is encouraging and helpful.
Having said that I will mention several courses that may be of interest to you.

That's a lot of material. I hope you will find some of it helpful.
Best of luck. Let us know what you decide to work on and how you are progressing.
Fantastic, that's a lot to chew on. With all those options I believe that I can put together 💯 exactly what I'm looking for.
Because I'm only recently getting back into guitar after a 40 year hiatus.....truly life got in the way, I've surrounded myself with some pretty decent equipment and time to put this all together. I can still kind of read music its just my technique thats getting in the way or I'd be happy to post a video. Give me some time to practice more and I'll post and hopefully get Robert's suggestions.
Thanks for your help
Aaron
Aaron,
Chris put together, as you said, "a lot to chew on". And it is. All of it will be helpful. But if you want to focus on Blues Rhythms I want to second Chris' recommendation of "Introduction to the 12 Bar Blues. This was my introduction to Master Guitar Academy and Robert. And is a misnomer. There are no smoking solos. At about 12 seconds in the introduction to the course Robert states his focus for the course, "A lot of players forget the importance of playing rhythm well". I can't think of another course, Robert's or from other sources, that is going to serve you better, knowing your goals.
Good luck to you! Mine was about a 50 year hiatus, btw.
Aaron - I gave you that list about 1 week ago... are you finished with it yet! 😉 Just kidding of course.
Ron... how could someone so youthful as yourself have had a 50 year hiatus...? Must be a typo! 😉
BTW gents, I wanted to 'Like' your posts but I don't see the "Like' click anywhere... do you guys see like clicks?
Nice, Chris!!!! Your family is going to treasure that photo long after you're gone. And that early you went with a single coil/humbucker hybrid guitar already trying to determine your tone 🤔 😎
Your poor aching mom with that Marshall stack!!!!
Oh I'm sorry I missed replying. I concur with what's been said. The "Introduction to the 12 Bar Blues is an must to go through, since it's about how a blues works, and it's about chord progression AND rhythm. Then go through the recommendations from Chris!
