if it all gels you may end up with a hit.
Thanks! Actually, we we're discussing selecting session cuts for posting to SoundCloud and seeing if it catches anyone's interest. A lot of the material is more like background music, maybe useful in snips for film projects.
@ehminor free jazz indeed, that concept is present. Typical lineup is Dum, Bass, Keys/Synth, and Guitar/Vocals. But this evolves as the moment strikes any player.
Our Keys/Synth player is a three handed two brain fellow with classical skills and honest creativity.
The Guitar/vocals uses a lot of Electro-Harmonix effects to create drones and backwards loops that he will control with his hands and build his own guitar based synth sounds. He'll early grab the tambourine and summon a vibe raising energy, and just hit on objects in the room with spare drumsticks.
It's up to bass n drums to hold the floor down so we can all raise the roof!
When our mad energy freight train drummer drops in, the regular drummer plays a wicked intuitive synth (Taliban Jam), and in recent sessions has pulled out the Mesa rig to do what he does best: Guitar!
Gaybe Lincoln and Minor Changes Temple, were the standard four piece, Taliban Jam was five.
It's all about a free creative space and confidence in the band that lets each player contribute without overplaying (too much).
@clayton This is very cool stuff, Clayton, and the area I want to move in to in 22. More atmospheric and layered using DAW tech which I know little about - yet.
Abe? wow...that's synchrony IMHO as I'm listening to the book, Abe, and he was a cracker just like us. Very creative composing and well beyond the rock/blues domain. Weird and cool. Bravo~!
I wrote 4 verses of a country tune, "Ode to Vaccine" and am coming up with the chords now. I'd love to hear your take when I do.
@bobkarstens It is hard to describe the satisfaction of connecting through creativity in this art. Thanks for your kind words and sharing your experience. I consider myself so incredibly fortunate to have my path intermingled with these younger (38 year old) band mates and to be an integral participant in their experiments. As one member said, “I gotta have my Thursday nights, it’s therapy.”
For another genuine artist, check out Chords of Orion on YT. Lots of great ambient tips, ideas and performances.
This week I will curate into movements and post a 68 minute opening jam from the end of December which we dubbed Sire Nora. It’s a showcase of my work on a fretless 5 string Stingray, the keys player’s new Nord Wave 2 Synth, and the rumination of Souls and Jack & the Beanstalk.
Hope the inspiration helps your 22!

That would be very cool!
