Hey, I have hearing loss. Do you? I know Chris does.
I made a mistake last night. A friend had a party for his 50th birthday, and he's a drummer and organized a jam. Of course, I went and played. I should not have. It was too freaking loud, and I forgot my ear plugs. Today, I hear two chorus-like notes when I'm whistling. Scary. There's extra white noise in my ears today. Stupid me - I should not have done that!
To see how bad it is, I went to do this test this morning. Give it a try you too, and post your results here. You need headphones and a quiet environment.
Here is mine - I can not hear anything above about 4,500 hz (I know that specific number from a hearing test I did with a professional).
Yeah... even with my hearing aids I still don't hear very well... I was curious about this test and I peeked at it... in general terms I cheated and did not calibrate or follow the rules quite right I just rushed in and did it. Imay do it again later , in the proper way and see how it goes....
This time... I was wondering if it was a joke for awhile as I heard nothing for a LOT of tests... until I got down to the bottom 4 tests and I finally heard it! and this was with my hearing aids on!!! Again I didn't calibrate though so...
Send a link to your test results!
Don't get me started with the Tinnitus. Way too many nights next to a drummer and a Fender Hot Rod in small venues. Now I have to keep my Hearos ear baffles, otherwise I pay for loud exposure like RR the next day.
Just tried the test with my morning coffee.
I knew my left ear is the worse one because sometimes (specially in public rooms with a lot of chatting) it sounds like someone is looking for a spoon in the canteen which was installed in my head (wasn't there years before). But now I know Listen closely
It's bad about 7000 hz.
Thanks for the link, Robert
Ok, back to the strings
