Yes, my practice log has been reduced by vacation and outdoor action. Fortunately I have been able to keep the 2 hours of open jam practice with my aspiring drummer so that keeps me on my toes and pushes me to play and develop material in the moment, but this summer has left my guitar weeping a bit over no detailed studies and drills.
How's everybody else doing with their work and play?
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you Clayton. Been trying to get something going with Slow Blues 60. But between golf and outdoor projects my time is limited. However, fall is just around the corner and it will be back to shed full time. Sorry to see golf winding down but looking forward to quality time with the guitar.
Same here. Work is killing me. Been trying to do a recording of Mary Had a little Lamb. It's a song I've known somewhat for awhile but not mastered. I would like to do that now but I take two steps forward and one step back. Hopefully, will be getting back on track here soon.
Bill, that's a work in progress for many moons with me. Intro & Chorus, fairly well played, but that solo is some serious effort and feel. Keep plugging away, you'll only get better!
Exactly Clayton! I too can play the intro and chorus but not the solo. I actually knew the solo better at one point than I do know. I have to go back and relearn it but after watching Robert's lesson I realized I needed to work on the muting of the rhythm more. Now I think I have it together. There's one more thing I need to learn with the intro and chorus and that's playing with the backing track. That's giving me trouble. I'm finding it hard to focus on the backing track and my playing at the same time. I have to admit, with work and all, I haven't spent the time I need to at it.
