I have an idea for a guitar challenge! LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY FOR 1 WEEK.

Find one guitar "thing" a day that you didn’t know already and learn it. Then record it (and hopefully share with us)!

It can be a lick, chord, riff, lick, finger pattern, scale, exercise, song, melody, , strumming pattern, etc. Whatever you want. I will do the same and share with YOU!

This will be a fun thing for all of us. This is great for motivation AND we'll learn new things. Win - Win!

This is motivating, Robert, a great challenge.  I am headed to Florida this week and will have access to an electric guitar (no amp), interface and ipad, so I should be able to make and record something every day.

I liked the similar direction on your recent short where you said to practice a simple scale motion daily.

Robert, to give a little feedback: I’m not good enough for a guitar challenge. I’m more used to working on two or three new things over a longer period of time.

And I only record something:

when I can play something reasonably well (and this takes some time),

or when I want to see how I’ve improved with my right hand,

or when I want to check if I’m really playing in time.

These recordings then help me to see what I still have to work on.

But I think that there are other opinions and I would be interested to know from other MGA members how they experienced this challenge when they tried this.

Birgit, anything you're learning would qualify. You don't have to have it down perfectly. The point is you're learning something new every day.

It can be something as simple as learning to recognize a chord shape. Or a new strumming pattern. Or a different way to hold the guitar. Or a simple 3 note melody. Or how to play 1 note. ANYTHING, no matter how simple or hard it is.

@Robert, in an e-mail from yesterday you linked your „7 Day Guitar Challenge“ video to Youtube, but the only thing that appears for me is: "the video is not available, private video".
