Digging it! Keep up the Good Work.
It's been a while.... But hey, never too late!
Here's a quicky from a 2 minutes lesson, classic rock riff.
Hope it's not to bad!
Wow! That's some fine rock'n going on.
Okay, it was a big weekend of guitar practicing... my fingers hurt!!!
So I have a special today, 2 for the price of 1:
First one is from part 2 of Robert post on Facebook:

The second one if from "Scales you can use" course from MGA.

My biggest concern right now is obviously timing... In fact, I have two timing issues, playing on beat and speed. I do believe that this last course have helped my a lot to learn how to play on beat. I guess speed only needs more practice.
Thanks all and sorry for your ears!
Seb, That second one was a very fine effort. Good tone and very listenable.
Keep 'em coming!
Very nice work, and yes the second recording is really cool.
You have identified the key issue for everyone: Timing
Be true to yourself BUT don't be too hard either- everybody wants to be better, and you're doing the work, including recording and posting, that will make a huge improvement in what you wish to be.
That is great! I really love the fact that you make the effort to record the rhythm guitar! It's essential to be able to play both lead and rhythm. In fact, this way of practicing (take some licks, make your own track or just create a rhythm guitar on a looper) will really help in becoming a better player.
The second recording is great too. You have strong skills - I can tell you listen to the details, you pay attention to timing and you have enough technique to sound good. Well done!
Thanks all for your comments, it is greatly appreciated that to take time to listen to my limited skills...
Now Robert, I'm not sure what I should work on?? It is fun to play solos and riffs from Soundslice, but how to improve my improvisation and soloing skills? Also, I would like to learn more rhythm progressions and turnarounds, any suggestions?
Thanks!
S.
S, whoa - big question! There are so many things that come to mind...
Can I get back to you on that? I need to take some time to develop a good answer.
But let me ask you, what are you aspirations? Not just ability, but also mention style of music.
Hey Robert, just keep it simple...
Now I'm working on Middle of the Day, but what should I do as the next lesson? In the same style, but increasing the level of difficulty a little bit maybe.
Also, do you have any scale lessons that you would recommend?
Thanks,
S.
Middle of the day!
Some false notes, but hey, it's late Sunday night!!!

Thanks RedFloyd, that is awesome! I can dig it.
Some polishing could be done - pitch on bent notes, timing on triplets specifically, but it's a great start. I recommend you record it a few times and see how it comes out over time?
👍
Yes Robert I totally agree with that. I will try it again and it should be better!
Okay, I tried to redo Middle of the day. This time, it was recorded with my actual amp and a shure USB mic. First time I tried that. Before I was using Amplitube, so let me know about the sound.
As for the playing, I'm not sure what is wrong with it, but there is a little something that is missing, I'll let you judge.
Also, I haven't recorded a video, because I still have no idea how to easily setup everything to have at the same time audio recording, video recording, backing track playing and partition showing. As you may have figured out, a lot of "ing" to do at the same time....
Anyway, here it is:

P.S. The backing track is not from me, only the solo is.
P.P.S. As for the bending, holy cow! I was doing the best I could on those 1 1/2 bends.... Still up not there quite, but I was bending almost under the 2nd string, don't know what I can do to bend even more! For now it's more of an 1 1/4 instead!
Thanks,
Sebas
Hey that is nice! It's an improvement for sure. Better tone, more in the pocket although your timing is a bit "early" on occasion. One thing you can do about this, is to sing it before you play it. Just hum along with recording, tapping your foot and try sing the rhythms of the solo (pitch doesn't matter). If you can it with my version, you can then play it better!
This works - guaranteed.
It's been a while since I posted here, so I owe you a new one. It is Bar Blues 1 recorded with Amplitube on iPad with my Epiphone Les Paul.
Not perfect, but I'm proud to say that it was all recorded in one shot. Please forget the end, I need to practice (a lot) more that part.
What I found the most difficult is, of course timing as usual, but for this tune in particular it was the big bends. Two things happens when I try to bend for a full or more, first, the bend is often not complete and second, the note becomes muted somehow. I really have to press hard on the string for the note to be not muted, but I mean REALLY hard. So hard that the skin is peeling off my ring finger now... Maybe the weight of my string is too heavy.
One last thing, I found it easier to bend higher on the Les Paul than on my Strat. Could it be because of the absence of a tremolo bridge on the Les Paul?
So here it is. Again, sorry for your ears...

Sorry Robert, still no video... I'm working on that...
