Most MGA members are of a "mature" age and appreciate the value of health when it comes to happiness, ability to do what we love with loved ones, and for as long as possible.
So today, at age 59, I had my second colonoscopy, and am very mindful of how crucial such preventative exams can be for our health. Maybe we don't share or encourage these healthcare habits and simple practices to keep our lives productive and to avoid tragedy. BUT I POST THIS TO ENCOURAGE ALL TO CARE FOR THEMSELVES AND HELP OTHERS.
Here's a project, inspired by such issues, that I created on acoustic: Denise,
I had the honor of @Wobbly_Bob adding his inspiration to homage: For Denise.
Headphones advised- recorded on GarageBand.
Take care!
PS, My exam was fine.
I go for my second one early next year. Yes, our good health is so important. I'll be 70 next year and as of today I probably could walk all Japan if I had too. I've been cycling Japan, maybe one reason I haven't been seen much on the forum. Need to figure out how to transfer pictures from my Android phone to the computer and show you folks some of Japan.
Healthy lifestyles keep us playing the blues instead of singing them. HBJ, I'd love to see some pics.
Sorry, I almost missed this post. Thank you for sharing this again. I get tear-eyed hearing this. It's so beautiful and it touches my heart. I am incredibly thankful for this. You guys are so amazing! I don't know how to thank you properly. It means much more to me than I can express.
For those of you who might not know - my late wife Denise died in 2019 from colon cancer that spread to her lungs. She was diagnosed in April 2017. Had she had a colonoscopy a few years earlier, she would likely be alive today. The doctor said the tumor had probably slowly grown for maybe 8-10 years, and we didn't know.
If I may offer some advice to my friends - if you haven't had this done recently, call your doctor. Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the USA and it can usually be successfully treated if it's detected early.
Robert, there certainly is an element of family among us and I am so thankful that you could share the unfathomable ordeal your family’s experience and loss. And I am fortunate to have reflected and gained perspective from suffering, both in personal development and in practices that keep us healthy and happy.
Cheer’s, mon ami!
