Eddie was 65 years old suffering from cancer.
I understand he had throat cancer then it went to the brain and other parts of the body.
Eddie really changed the landscape for the guitar players of the future.
He's right up there with Les Paul Jimi Hendrix and all the other greats they're all jamming up there.
I just heard the news myself. My wife and I were in the car and she was reading a news bulletin on her iPad about his death. I didn't realize that he is a classically trained pianist. Interesting guy.
His music is a little too hard rock for my taste but undeniably a brilliant guitarist. And he influenced a lot of younger guitarists, I'm sure some on here.
RIP EVH
I can only agree. He was a brilliant guitarist and he died too early.
Altough his music was a little bit to hard rocky for me too, his name remains for me inseparably linked with his legendary guitar solo for Michael Jackson's « Beat it « .
I would like to share an interview to Eddie Van Halen. It was music to my ears....
