Got any questions?

Robert, here is my question:
Which points must be taken into account when I want to speed up my guitar playing, as a beginner, using a metronome/drum track? Is it appropriate using accelerating beats? Which optimal speed intervals should one use?
Thanks, Birgit
I am not sure what you by that. Can you expand your thoughts a bit?
I mean when I’m playing a riff properly, for example, at 75 bpm, and my goal is to play the riff at 105 bpm, should I go further from 75 bpm and try the riff in little sub-steps: 85, 95 and then 105 bpm?
Or should I use an accelerating metronome/drum track that accelerates continuously the tempo maybe every 8 or more beats from 75 to 95 bpm to force my fingers to follow, and then again from 75 to 95 bpm in a loop (that’s what I mean when I’m talking about speed interval). And the next speed interval could be from 85 to 105 bpm.
Thanks, Birgit
Dang it! Once again won't be able to make it. We are moving and have final walk through of our new house about this same time ☹️

Just watched the video of yesterday’s live stream. Again a great live stream, Robert, with lots of information I will definitely use in my practice.
You talked about the different bending options for the different notes of the minor pentatonic: half step, whole step. Talking about the weak note, the 4th, that can be flexible with bending and so on. Lots of very helpful information!
I higly recommend this video before one starts learning bending because with all your information on music theory (what is possible, what not) bending makes much more sense to me and probably to many others.
And to me, this lesson is my „missing link“ to get a better understanding.
Thank you for answering my question how to play riffs faster, that I should play in increments rather than increase gradually.
And finally, as you talked a little bit about your different guitars, maybe you could give us more information about the pros and cons of your guitars in a further live stream. I would be very interested to know more.
A big compliment,
Birgit
Thanks Birgit!
@wobbly_bob, glad you picked it up and threw it out there, the slow burn vibe definitely built up and blossomed. Let me quote a few chapter and verse moments that caught my peasant ears: 1:15; 2:11 and the beautiful rundown at 3:40. But here I merely mark moments and brushstrokes rather than the image that arose on the canvas. Tis a good thing, a most tasty good thing!
That's cool, Craig. I wonder if I should do a live stream on how I practice chord tones over a slow blues like that. I think there is an important difference between practicing where the notes are, compared to trying to playing a good solo. I do both, but separately.
Craig,
I think it's been a while since I've seen you rock out in a video! Thanks for sharing. I can see you haven't lost your touch! Well done!
Robert,
Your thoughts of doing a live stream on how you practice chord tones and noting the difference between practicing where the notes are, compared to trying to playing a good solo... sounds like a great idea to me! I think that would be an awesome session! I hope you are able to do it.
