Dear members, I invite you to join the jam sessions, where we take turns recording ourselves jamming over tracks. It will end being a community jam, and it's a great way to give and share, and LEARN. This is how it works.
If you are "starter" of a jam session:
- Download these jam tracks and choose one you like.
- Record yourself playing over it, maybe 12 bars or 24 bars if it's a blues.
- Start a new thread with the title describing the key, style and tempo.
- Upload the track with your playing over it.
- Next player will add his/her name to the thread in the form of a numbered list, so that everybody else knows the order of players.
Make sure to keep the quality as high as possible when you save. See a tutorial here for those who use Audacity.
If you are joining a jam in progress, put your name on the list before you record yourself. Then upload your version of the track to the thread, so the next person can continue where you left off.
Have I missed anything? Got questions? I would say play at the most 1 minute of jamming. We want to give as many players as possible a chance to participate before the track runs out. Also, remember I can make more tracks, longer tracks, and have them slower/faster, different keys and styles.
Here is the current pool of tracks. These are the full resolution AIFF files - large.
If you would like any other style of track, just let me know and I'll give it a try!
