How'd you do that?  It works.  Thank you very much, sir.

How do I download this track into Reaper?  When I try to do it, the file says "offline".  I tried Audacity also but it says it is an FFmpeg file.  I downloaded it from Youtube into mp3.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks guys.

I may be misreading this and if so, I apologize but... are you having trouble downloading it or using it in Reaper...?

Where are you getting the error message from... Reaper ... or when you try to download the file? Are you getting the error while downloading or while trying to load it into Reaper

Could the file be corrupt...? Are you able to play the file with a media player...  if so, the file is probably fine.

Once you have the mp3 of the file, you should be able to just drag it into Reaper or 'open' it from within Reaper. Is that where you ran into problems?

You mention you downloaded the file from YT as an mp3... I would ask you how did you do that. How did you download the file as an mp3 from YT video?

Craig Would you mind if I asked for details regarding how you do this?

Do you download the video and then run it in VLC and then...? Details would be appreciated... Thanks in advance!

Guys, I have the backing track available for you - no need to convert from video.

Go to  https://www.masterguitaracademy.com/backing-tracks/ and follow the link to the Box. Once you are on Box, the file is under the letter E.

I don't want to link directly to the file here, because this forum is viewable by the public. All backing tracks are available for you as a member, including any you see in a video.

Hey Chris,  This vid gives the steps to extract audio. The key is to open VLC player first! Hope this helps.

Thank you kindly for that Craig... I love VLC but it doesn't love me it seems. I have the latest version [I just checked] but I have a very low success rate with getting YT videos to download.

I think the audio convertor will be helpful but getting YT videos to download ... is another tale. Any good suggestions there...?

thanks again.

On PC I use "ant video downloader" in firefox. Works a treat

  Available here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/

Thanks Robert very much appreciated! I think Chris is seeking info for other projects not MGA related 😎

Craig,

I have been sitting in with a couple of groups lately. In that regard, I am trying to learn different songs for both groups. Some of the songs I have never heard before! It is a challenge, at least for me it is, but I am slowly building up a repertoire that will hopefully be useful someday... the practice time is useful and I also get to enjoy the pleasure of playing within a group.

I do like the idea of grabbing performance videos from YT with the idea of working on cover songs and unlocking some of the secrets and licks within, so I guess I will plead guilty as charged... no harm there, right?

Thanks for the tips!

No harm there at all mate.  No conflict of interest. Any knowledge that improves the music of the world cant be bad!.

Hope those tips help.

Peace,   Craig 👍
