Whew, that really rolled in with the fire and flavor of a killer ending for the Killer Intro Jam! Serious Blues, my Brother, very serious sounds that just gave me goosebumps. How cool. Really cool.
Craig, I want to hear some other Members give their thoughts on that outro which put the icing on a well layered cake. I will start another thread on the call and response jam tomorrow morning here at +5hours Greenwich Mean Time.
Thanks Clayton, I personally think my last recording was a little peaky. But that's what happens sometimes I guess. I will improve my recording techniques (and hopefully my playing tech as well!) over time.
I lost the overview about how many of you did record their solo. I count three, so this here MGA-Killer-Lick-Jam-4-Guitars hopefully links to my contribution as guitar no. 4. Cubase and me, we will never get friends I guess. Anyway it would be helpful if someone replies wether he could use the link in here.
Worst case: You can listen, but you can't download the file (I guess, that's what happens). So I attached my solo without the backing track and maybe someone else will put it in? I am embarrassed that I have so many technical problems. Really.
Oh Lord.....
and the file without the jamtrack in here:
Hi Gottfried,
All my recordings are made with guitar rig 5. As far as I know it is free. Please, visit the link:
and have a look. If finally decide to go for it, do not hesitate to ask me whatever you want. Of course, it is free a part of the software. But if you want to amply the resources, tones....unfortunately there is a price. But I am working with a very simple version....
And here's my feel for some slow blues. I spent several hours just exploring, how may ways I could approach this solo, and the feel just kept evolving. I forgot how much time I can spend getting lost in the music once I put a backing track into loop and close the woodshed door. Funny, I wanted to make this a ripping solo but the little notes and nuances, the feel just kept pulling me in another direction.
I sincerely thank all you players who laid down their solos and delivered a great space for me to join. When this jam is done, I would like to hear from players and listeners alike regarding their thoughts on how this process affected you, insights and lessons.
Craig and/or Esteban, would you like to take us out with a closing solo?
Really gr8 mate! I love the "since I've been Lovin' you..." double stops at the start of your solo. They immediately tweaked my soul and made me sit up and listen! Its obvious you have a passion for the guitar and music in general. You moved me brother!.... 🤣
I will add my finishing flavour in the next little while and leave space for Estaban to take us out.
Dear friends and colleagues,
ok, 5:45 a.m., it is time for the blues. Guys, this sounds fantastic and you have put the level very high. It is time to take over. Let's see how I manage to close this jam with a little dignity from my side. Craig, I think I'm going to take your last notes and let's see where this breaks ... let me a short time, it is not easy task. I guess I will pray to Carlos.
Ok, fantastic. No problem. Sounds really very nice....
Esteban
You still could do a different version. It would be interesting to see different takes on it. You could download Claytons link and show us your chops. 😆
Well Clayton that sounds very good, i like your double stop on the lower strings. It seem i listening to SRV - Chitlins con Carne. He used that beautiful double stops on the low strings to. My complements to you and all this guitar players.
A successful and rewarding Jam, fellas- Congratulations on building musicianship. So many qualities: Listening, playing, sharing, critical communication in words and notes, and the unique connestion with others, far and near, through music. I look forward to more projects together and the incredible growth and insights that sharing expression through performance gives us as musicians.
Esteban, I share Craig's sentiment: "You still could do a different version. It would be interesting to see different takes on it. You could download Clayton's link and show us your chops. " Esteban, my Brother, you inspired me to start this Jam, and you laid down the intro solo! Please download my version and add in your closing as the alternate Final cut to the Killer Intro. Here: Killer Intro Cm Jam V.5 Clayton
Please, let know if this meets your expectative, maybe too much faster in composing, some notes out of tempo....Well, anyway, comments, critics and suggestions are always warm welcome.
FANTASTIC! Esteban, I would not change a note or timing- your solo has the raw energy of a live Jam, giving a true connection with YOUR feel for the Blues. You bottled the lightening and let us see the glow.
I am so glad you took the time to share your gift by closing with your phrasing on the opening theme you created.
I always learn so much, in so many ways, at a Jam. Thanks to all my fellow band members: Esteban, Craig, Chuck, Gottfried, and of course, Robert.
I spliced and overdubbed Esteban's alternate solo closing onto Craig's second solo. Here- Now we have a Grand Slow Blues Jam with Esteban opening and closing with Craig on each side of Esteban on the virtual Stage. Enjoy: Killer Intro Lick Jam Final 12 25 2107
Jammers solo's appear as follows: Esteban, Craig, Chuck, Gottfried, Clayton, Craig, and Esteban.
