Alright, Members, the Killer Lick for Starting a Solo Lesson has inspired an online Jam. Rules of Play:

  1. Everyone is Invited to Play, this is about your contribution as a musician, not your skill level.
  2. The Backing Track (10 minutes thanks to Robert) is linked below for download.
  3. Each Player takes turns, downloading the Backing Track, adding their solo section and then reposting the Backing Track with their addition. SO PLEASE POST TO THE THREAD THAT YOU ARE DOWNLOADING THE LATEST VERSION OF THE BACKING TRACK SO WE KNOW WHO's THE NEXT PLAYER TO TAKE THE STAGE SPOTLIGHT.
  4. Keep the new recording clean- Be Sure to Keep the Overall Gain on your post clean so the Track does not degrade for the next musician.
  5. THIS IS NOT A CONTEST, its about sharing and learning.

TIPS:  Take your time building your solo, slow blues are best served by building layers of energy and expression.  Listen to others, and then make the sound you hear in your head and heart.

Keep your sound clean, a little dirt goes a long way.

Keep your solo just above the mix level to keep the sound balanced with a little more focus on the solo.

And Most important- Have Fun.

And as usual, critics, comments and suggestions are warm welcome....Now, it´s the chance for other members to add more ideas and to enrich this track. Have fun!!!!!.

Estaban that sounds great!

I'm new at this but  shouldn't that be recorded over the entire track so that we all can add to it?

Thank you Craig. Your comments are of great encouregement.

The idea is that full track should be filled by as many members as possible. If you are able to 'create' or 'improvise' 12, 24 bars or whatever, please go ahead. Clayton is the coordinator, so he will put all together in a single track, by adding the different inputs. This is one of reasons why Robert provided 10 minutes backing track.

Hope this info will help.

Cheers,

Esteban

Yes.  Craig, you are correct. Esteban, can you post your solo with the full length backing track?

Esteban, wow, that was a beautiful beginning, building the theme and leaving space open. Incredible feel and restraint, lots of emotion.

Very nice Esteban! Tasty, like Swedish meatballs! 🙂

I also recommend you encode mp3s with a fairly high bitrate, because the more people that add to the file and save it as mp3 each time, it's going to degrade the quality a bit. That's because mp3 is a format that removes some data from the file. Maybe 320 or 256 kilobits per second?

Esteban... out of the gate with another great one... Is that Blue or your new guitar? It sounds great... If I would change anything at all, I think I would make the guitar a wee bit louder in the mix...

Great job

Beautiful playing, Caballero.   A sweet set-up for the next player.  Who's next on the stage?

Great effort from Estaban some silky smooth tones. I'm going to be away soon. So I thought I'd give it a go before I vamoose. I will download and respond real soon. Probably within 12 hours.

BTW I certainly hope the esteemed Mr Renman will be throwing his hat into the ring!!!!
