Well, once I'm rolling then the red light room is ready at Deep C Studios. The other night I thought to try some Doors basics and it turns out this Em with a little D son, Break on Through, is a fun base to work on. Here's a quick 90 minute recording session which I titled: Breaking on Through
Thank you for sharing the results of your stay at the Deep C Studios with us, @clayton. I had time to listen to your recording and I am thrilled. Yes, I can hear the Doors breaking through in your playing! What a driving rhythm and phrasing.
I really love the parts over the Em7, sometimes spiced with a bit of funky rhythm and then of course the counterpoint, the distorted parts over the D 👍.
As beautiful as your recording is, I‘m sorry to say that it looks like we’re the last of the Mohicans on the MGA forum front. That’s a pity, because I always find it exciting to read and listen to what the MGA members are doing musically at the moment - but it’s all voluntary.
Nevertheless, I hope that you continue to roll so well and that your red light room is always well illuminated.
Thank you so much,
Birgit

@bluesiline, I think you are right about us being Chingachgook and Nathaniel. I've been to Cooperstown - beautiful place, and I love the story. I also visited Chimney Rock in North Carolina where they filmed the final action sequence in the dramatic Daniel Day Lewis version. Go figure, both visits were bicycle adventures.
Well, I am always impressed with your practice and enthusiasm so I will keep posting and I encourage you to do the same. At the very least the MGA forum makes any easy pen pal platform.
You really caught onto the dynamics of the latest project. There's a little organic drumming which can best be heard at the very beginning. It's me thumping out a tempo on the back of my Taylor GS Mini and the microphone is going into GB. Remember, these recording sessions make one think about what they can offer and how.
Cheers!

Clayton, I listened to your song again more closely at the beginning and tried to hear something out.
And indeed, I heard you the first 15 seconds, after that everything got louder. And yes, it's definitely audible as organic drumming.
So nice that you still mentioned that.
