Yes ,  recording video as well as audio is invaluable to  learning.

This last take is good,  I can hear and see every slur, error and hesitation.  Really brings the warts to the surface.  Next one hopefully will be better. 😎

Try singing along to your lines! It really works - makes ones playing more organic and melodic.

The discipline needed to perform each stage, to constrain notes and focus, has to be a lesson in itself.  Literally creating a new pathway that will be part of your solo instincts.  It's cool to see and hear the process and think 1.  How would I like to play that section? And 2. How would I actually play it compared to what I'd imagine.

I guess I'm seeing this from the, "how to play that sound in your head" AND "how to develop a good sound in your head" angle. I'm thinking the recommended singing part will give the notes a little more flow and space, while also reinforcing the sound in your head to hands.

This Day 4 video has alot of character - I can hear all of the previous practice concepts marking the style.

For my 2 cents I think that more context of playing in a song would really help spread out the phrases and give them meaning.  By this I mean, think of playing with a singer where your trading guitar and vocal phrases like classic blues songs from any of the 3 Kings.  Even just imagining the vocals, leaving that space and playing to or against the vocals would be interesting... and challenging.

clayton, I want to be able to play epic instrumentals that have a lyrical nature.  This is the beginning of learning that style.  Videoing daily progress enables you to really break it down and as you reflected 'enables you to see and hear that process.'
