Call & Response (C&R) Solos are the backbone of Blues Solos. C&R can be performed by one player, or multiple players. The solo player plays a phrase "The Call" and then a "Response" is played. The Response is a copy of the Call with some change/variation in the sound. The variation could be notes, bends, timing, location on the fretboard, or any little change. This creates a conversation between phrases.
One player can perform the Call and Response phrasing in his own solo, building Calls and Responses with each new phrase.
Two Players can exchange Calls and Responses by taking turns: The first Player Calls, and leaves space for the second Player Response. Then the First Player Calls with another phrase, and leaves space for the second Player Response to the new phrase. WITH VIRTUAL CALL & RESPONSE JAMS, this requires the first Player to record his Calls, leaving the same amount of space, and recording his second phrase, leaving space, and then recording the third phrase, leaving space, and more, etc.
Call and Response builds a lot of Skills for both players. Virtual Call and Response Jams require patience and planning, but they are really fun.
So, Here is the Cm Slow Blues Backing Track: Cm Slow Blues C&R Track Original
Craig, you can start this by recording Calls, leaving phrase space for a Response, and then the next Call and space for Response. I suggest 6- 10 Calls, keep the Call Phrases fairly easy to follow and build a little complexity in Calls as you progress.
Think of this as follow the leader, and each Response has your own style and feel added. MOST OF ALL, PLAN YOUR PLAYING TO WORK TOGETHER WITH OTHERS- THIS IS PERFORMANCE TEAMWORK.

Roger that!. Will get to work and post soon! 🤩
Ok Here is the first draft. I hope its in the right format.
If it needs alterations let me know. Otherwise dig in!! 🤣
That's a perfect start, Craig. You have set down the elements of a conversation, And you left excellent space for the Responses. Let's see if anyone grabs this great opportunity.
Players, please post if you are taking a turn to post Response to Craig's Calls.
Members, I am taking the Response to Craig's Call, I'll be posting soon.
Here's my Response to Craig's first 12 Bars. I also set up my own Calls for Bars 13-36, so somebody please pick up the guitar and Respond!
Call & Response Jam Craig/Clayton
Craig, thanks for keeping it simple and bluesy. I tried to keep the same theme, exchanging ideas through Calls for others to Respond.
Players, this is another Great exercise that will make you conversant on the guitar, getting those ideas from your ears, through your head and out onto your fingers. We can add complexity as this grows, but let's just keep this as fun communication for now. Walk first, You can run later if you find a partner willing to keep with you on the Jam.
Nice talkin' to ya Bro!! Great responses. Very soulful.
I think everyone's probably gone to ground for Xmas so if no one responds soon I will keep the ball rolling.
Indeed, I was amazed how those C&R's blended- that's a great start and hopefully an example to get more virtual jamming for the coming year.
Feel free to fill in the blanks and forge some new calls as well. We can always set up more Backing Tracks.
Chapter 2 The saga continues. https://app.box.com/s/4ovmifvplbvceolfy1qtail6z6re4r9k
Bringing up the heat on the simmering blues. Very nice tone and inflection, Craig, You have Called again, and I am looking for Response.
Thank You, Brother, that's a wonderful way to share the Holiday Spirit! Merry Christmas.
Come On, Players!
Dear friends and colleagues,
I did not want to lose the chance to provide my input. I create this in about 5 minutes, so please, do not take into account so much the mistakes. Also, if you do not this approach, please let me know and I will try to re-address. Hope you like it.
Happy new year 2018
Esteban
Esteban! I think you did not post the new Response track link. Please check the track because i would really like to hear your part, too.
Never apologize for teamwork and playing into a jam.

Hey Estaban, The format for this exercise is to fill in the gaps of the previous performer with licks of you own. The solo you have done is nice but not fitting in with the project parameters. I dont know how else to explain it. Hope this helps clarify the issue. 😉
Dear Craig,
Happy new Year. Ok, understood. Fantastics. I will be back later.
Cheers,
Esteban
