I need a few days to heal up the finger cut, so I think this is a good time to take requests for backing tracks! Tell me what you would like and I'll do my best to comply. Here are some elements you should specify:

  • Style (rockbilly, country, jazz, blues, bossa, ballad, pop, etc)
  • Tempo
  • Key(s)
  • Length

I can certainly take the same track and provide it several keys and at different tempos if you request it. It's actually really easy to do that with Band-in-a-Box.

Is it possible to do a ballady Pink Floydian type backing track? Say in Em, Am, Bm? Slow tempo about 5 minutes?

Also a Santana salsa type in Dm? moderate tempo 5 minutes?

How about a traditional 12 bar blues that has a chorus in the middle.  Ive heard them like

4 bars E| 2bars A| 2 bars E| 1 Bars B| 1 Bar A| 1 Bar E|  1 Bar B.  Then the chorus goes 2 Bars A| 2 Bars E| 2 Bars A|  2 Bars B |  (hence a middle 8)

Okay guys, I wrote a ballad for you.

All of my backing tracks can be found via this link. Look for the folder called "Ride to Alberta".

I have provided several versions. The one with the synth pad is sometimes a bit wonky when changing chords. This software works perfectly about 92% of the time, but sometimes, it "plays mistakes" so to speak. Pretty minor I think, but one or all of these versions should get you going!

I have also included the chord progression the folder. The progression is 32 bars long, and repeats 4 times.

All of my backing tracks can be found via this link.

Thanks!

For this track, you can use the C major the whole time, except for one little spot. That Bb chord is the only chord that is outside the key of C major, so I recommend you simply highlight some notes from the Bb major triad there. Or, you can simple leave empty space there - playing nothing is alwasy a useful trick, LOL!

I'll add my vote to the Santana suggestion. A Latin style rhythm like the one from Black Magic Woman would be nice.
Anything out of the ordinary, maybe some time signatures outside the normal 4/4.
(e.g., 3/4 and 5/4)
Nobody told me to make life easy for you, LOL.

Ok it's Latin time! I wrote 5 tunes for you. Some jazzy of course. The Samba Blues is a standard blues progression with this style, it feels quite different, doesn't it! I like it.

All of my backing tracks can be found via this link.

Look for the folder called "Latin".

Please do not link to my tracks from this forum.

The link is working when I try. It takes you to the backing tracks page, and if you are logged in, you will find the link to all my tracks on "box".

Thanks for the wonderful Latin tracks AND chords!
I especially liked the "Black Magic Dan" track, LOL.

(I have been rehearsing and getting ready for a big magic gig I had last night. We broke all attendance records for our show. Otherwise, I would have discovered this track and commented sooner.)

Muchas gracias, amigo!
