Just came back from a really wonderful show. I took this photo at the Lougheed Centre in Camrose. Great venue!
They had videos playing on the screen as Randy told wonderful stories about songs and the two bands. This was an amazing experience for me! Hearing the stories about songs that they then played was incredibly exciting.
Randy Bachman is a legend in Canada. As a founding member of The Guess Who (there were huge in North America in the 70s) and later Bachman Turner Overdrive, he came to my little town to play these famous songs and more importantly perhaps - he told amazing stories behind the songs.
An unforgettable experience!
PS.
If you are unfamiliar with his work, check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Bachman and also The Guess Who history on Wikipedia. Rock Royalty!
The Ho Chunk tribe has a casino about an hour from my house. A few years ago we went to a concert with the Guess Who and Joe Walsh. Great concert! There was one more band that opened but I can't remember who they were. And I can't remember if Randy Bachman was with the Guess Who this night.
Don't forget Burton Cummings!
The stories Randy told were so interesting and special. I'm still in awe. 🙂
His son is a great musician too. He was there playing with him. It's the guy on the left in the photo. He had a big hit with this song in the 90s.
Certainly a splash of the 90’s vibe. I did not make the connection until now. Sounds like a wonderful evening, RR.
