The Jim Irsay Band featuring Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Comfortably Numb (Live at Farm Aid 2023)
Love to see this great guitar solo from Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
The solo is from David Gilmoure-Comfortably Numb.
Thank you for this! One of the greatest contemporary guitar players performing, what some argue, is the greatest solo ever. It would have to be smoking! It was!
I just heard on Sat Radio a song of KWS called "Ease My Mind". I don't know if it is a song of his that everyone knows about or not. But it also has some smoking blues guitar. Check it out if you have a chance.
Thanks again for this.
@matonanjin Your welcome.
Yeah this a great solo, I will try learn some licks if I can. That would not be easy for me.
Yeah Ease on my mind is from Kenny's new Album Dirt on my diamonds that came out on November 17 this year. There are 8 songs on that album 7 songs are written by Kenny and some co witters. And also Ease on my mind is written by Kenny and Dylan Altman. Only track six Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting is written by Elton John.
Dirty on my Diamonds is so a different album that we to be use to from Kenny. 😀
Did you hear my take on Comfortably Numb by my band Warp Kings?
@robert Wow Robert this a great version too.
I hope to see the images ever and see you on the guitar.
Thanks for sharing this one!
There is a clip of me playing it live but with poor audio. I think that video is somewhere on this forum. 🙂
Wow Robert amazing, I asking myself will I ever learn this. I give it a try in 2024 to learn a little of the solo, how you, Kenny or Gilmour it plays.
Thank you so much Robert for sharing this !one
@robert You are The Man! And after all that solo, I particularly liked your flourish as the end!
This is really something Robert. Just, as I described Kenny's, smoking! Just really impressive.
Thanks, glad you like it! I could do a lesson that solo, why not? It is not easy but some licks are certainly doable for many players and many licks are repeated throughout. It is a lot of fun to play!
@robert That would be great Robert, I have looks many time the video back how Kenny plays it. My hands want practice on this one. The to much difficult part is for me the fast strumming techniques Kenny do on the end of the solo. That's what I wanna start in 2024 and hope to learn a little of that. 😀
@robert, it would definitely be above my "pay grade" but I would still be interested. And there is so much reverence for this solo I have to believe there would be a lot of interest in a lesson on it.
@robert, I can only join in, a lesson, that would be just great, a Comfortably Numb solo lesson in the typical RR style 👍.
The solo is also beyond my capabilities, but maybe there would be one or two licks for me to work on.
The solo is simply great.
In any case, Robert, you would record the solo for the lesson in wonderful audio quality. That alone would be worth it to me 😊.
