Many years ago Jimmy Thackery came to my home town with The Nighthawks with Portlands best blues band opening.  The Nighthawks blew the place up.  Hot band.  Thackery tours by himself,  calls themselves the Drivers.  If you like rocking blues check him out.

We saw Jimmy Thackery here in Omaha 3 or 4 years ago.  Just a great show.  He is a smoking guitar player and a very entertaining performer.

I agree.  If you like rocking blues, definitely someone to check out.

He must enjoy touring.  It must be a decade or more ago, there was a blues festival in Thedford, Nebraska.  This is impossible on so may levels but it happened!  Thedford is in the middle of Nebraska, in the middle of the Sandhills, in the heart of country western music.  Map it out!!!!  The entire county, Thomas County, has a population of 640 🤔   There is no way it could support a blues festival but it did.  I had never heard of Jimmy Thackery but they headlined it!  I couldn't go.

I asked Jimmy at the show here about the festival in Thedford and he said it was great!!

This is one of my favorites of Jimmy Thackery.  He has another one that was on his CD that I have.  Something with "Ice" in the name.  I'll try and find it.  but, for now, enjoy this:

Thank you Taylor for mentioning Jimmy Thackery and thank you Ron for posting this video. I didn’t know Jimmy Thackery before but I’m delighted. Really rocks. I will listen to other songs of him.

I think our Craig (whobbly_bob) here from MGA, whom I admire for his cool playing, sounds really similar indeed and I believe he could make his own version of Hobart’s Blues.

Growing up in the DC area you couldn't swing a dead cat without slapping it into a Nighthawks performance venue.  Those guys were everywhere... Mmmm, the things you take for granted.

Ron

Thanks for the video... Count me in. I love it too. First I've heard from him though I have heard the name a number of times!

I have heard his name, but I hadn't heard him play until now. Very sweet! I like his sound.
