Oh yes we have it simple in my uncle's home studio: Using my uncle's amp was a Yamaha G100 and mine was the Yamaha GS50 made by Paul Rivera the man of the great Rivera amps. There were beautiful reverb springs in both amplifiers, which we liked to use. We first recorded the rhythm with a mic pointed at the amplifier to the audio interface that I played and then my uncle's solo part. The drum and bass are real drums/bass from the Band in the Box program. My uncle's favorite show.
Below a kind of a biography!
In 2011 my uncle, who unfortunately passed away in 2018, asked me to play guitar with him once in a while on Saturday afternoons. I had bought a Fender stratocaster in 1991 from Peter Verspuy in Rotterdam (now Bax). He went with me then, because I didn't understand it at the time. He said he hoped that like all other family members I would also do something with music. When I was about ten years old I had already tried something on my father's acoustic guitar, but I had more of an eye for the sport than making music. But I loved listening to music and going to concerts too. Even though I had that beautiful white guitar hanging on the wall, I only took it off the wall every now and then. The sport remained more important to me than making music.
In 2011 after almost 12 years not touched much. On a Saturday afternoon at his homes studio I made up a rhythm with a few chords on which he started to solo. It's an instrumental and he asked what are we going to call this piece and I said let's call it Choice. I said I have to make a choice between exercising what I like to do or making music and putting more time into it. In 2012 we were satisfied and put it on a CD single for ourselves.
Due to the busyness of my work I had little time to make music, we wrote two instrumental songs between 2012-2018 where I took the solos and my uncle the rhythm part. These songs were never really finished and maybe I'll manage to do this in the course of time. I still have the recordings. When my uncle passed away in 2018 I was so devastated that I thought now I'm going to grab my guitars and make the music I like. My Uncle George was more into Jazz, Bluesy and Bossa Nova music. And as you know I love the Texas Blues and Blues Rock. And prefer to do this, but also like to play other types of music.
In august was it 5 years ago that my uncle passed away and I am super excited that I have now put the song Choice on the streaming services such as Spotify, Itunes, You-tube, etc.
That's a very touching story and great song! I'm sure your uncle is very proud of you.

Now that is a great story behind the music. Music is an expression of the artist’s emotional relationship with the world. And here, the expression preserve’s and relates a wonderful and deep experience.
Big cheers for posting that music on streaming and sharing here!
That is so sweet! I love the story, and I love the song. May your uncle with you every day, in music and in your heart.
