I know most of us were right there in the 70's. How about Members posting a YT link for some favorites?
Funky Town by Lipps, Inc., performed by 3 disco mime dancing chicks. As far as Lipps, Inc., is concerned, these gals were certainly doing THAT.
@dan,
great you mentioned Funky Town 😊. Old memories are awakened. I haven’t thought about it anymore.
Thank you

Most of all he need the funk
Help him find the funk
I didn’t have the bands „Earth, Wind & Fire“, „Parliament“, „Sly & the Family Stone“ and „The Meters“ on my radar before. No memories of my youth. I started listening to the greats of funk music only recently, when I began strumming 16th notes - not that long ago! But all the more enriching now for me.

And, @bluesiline, Cissy Strut is so beautifully simple but so hard to get just right!

Here's Larry Graham with Prince
I'm gonna have to add more to the fun. Here's a tune I've played live. I actually have a live recording of us playing it, but it's pretty lame compared to this:
You know I'm a big Prince fan. So I'm sharing this live clip with his band grooving hard on a very famous funk tune, followed up by a great tune of his own. Listen to how tight the groove is! This is LIVE. He was a funk master. Great, great guitar work here too. Listen closely. Heavy rocking!
I think it's so cool he was the only male in the band! He sure helped them get noticed on the music scene.
Mighty, Mighty, just lettin' it all hang out! That Prince vid is HEAVY ROCKING FUNK!
And doesn't this just want to make you want to shake yer pants?
This is so funky, I can't stand it!
Everybody loosen up
Shake it like you just don't care
