I do these from time to time to create interest in my lessons. Perhaps I should create a fun SRV style solo with his typical style of playing... This technique presented here is an example of a part of his distinct style.

I love that move!  I hear that in Mary Had A Little Lamb & Tin Pan Alley, very flexible and complex sounding.  Gotta dig into this lick.
