Hi folks, I've just signed up. Any recommendations for a newbee would be greatly appreciated!
Charlie
Welcome to the MGA! Tell us a little bit about yourself and your likes and interests in music, or any other interesting fact.
Here's my tip, everybody wants to play a solo, and that starts with knowing how to play rhythm blindfolded. Rhythm is the wave upon which you will ride that solo to the beach.
And record, record, record some more.
Hi and welcome!
I suggest getting started with the Intro to the Blues and Easy Blues Solo.

Charlie, Welcome! There is a very helpful, knowledgeable "brain trust" here that will respond anytime you have a question. @Clayton, @Bluesiline , @JestMe and others are always available and you should exploit their help. You've already seen that @Robert responds.
As Clayton suggested, it would help if we knew a little more about you. "newbee" can mean a pretty wide range of experience. Are you completely new to guitar, just picked it up, or have you been playing a while? And what genre do you like? Blues? Rock? Jazz?
I was also going to suggest Robert's https://www.masterguitaracademy.com/course/introduction-to-the-12-bar-blues/ I worked it when I first got here years ago and it is a GREAT course. But while it is listed as "beginner" level, I think, it is not for absolute beginner. There is
https://www.masterguitaracademy.com/lesson/introduction-2/ and a couple others like "Get Close" that are good beginner songs.
Charlie,
Good to see you here. You've got several good suggestions already, but I will add one... once you get settled in drop a video or two of yourself playing through a lesson. Robert, and perhaps others, will likely give you a few constructive suggestions. Another value is, rewatch the video in a few months and you will definitely see how much you have progressed.
Have fun!
Charlie, a warm welcome from me too.
You have already received some valuable tips from our members, nice to read 😊.
I would like to add two more:
If you want, you could open a « Practice Log » where you can share your musical experiences, difficulties, experiences of success etc. I know from my own experience, how valuable that is.
I also highly recommend that you take a look at Robert’s «2 Minute Lessons» - a real treasure trove with lots of musical treats. Just browse and see what you like to learn.
Enjoy learning and playing,
Birgit
