Hello People, Some say that 64 is the new 63 but i have my doubts. I have been playing Guitar for about 10 yrs, mostly Acoustic. Twice a month i play with a small group at a Senior Care Facility, we play a lot of old Hymns, some Johnny Cash and the like. I hope they give me a discount when the time comes.
I got the itch to play my old Strat and hope to learn how to solo and play some blues stuff. I don't know much about putting together licks or Phrasing but i hope that will change soon. I have watched a few of Roberts Videos and really enjoy the way that he teaches.
If any of you have any tips or suggestion please share them with this old guy.
Thanks in Advance.
Mike
Welcome Mike! Glad to have you here!
I think the beginner blues solo is a good start because you get the practice the minor blues boxes all over the neck - https://www.masterguitaracademy.com/course/beginner-blues-solo/
Welcome, "young fella." Well, that's what most of the Rock Gods, now in their 70's would say. The Beauty of music is transcendence through expression, sharing, and receiving. Congratulations on moving to the MGA.
Scales seem significant.
I can recall a Master violinist (in his early nineties) when being interviewed was asked why he still practiced scales for 2 hours a day. He replied " well I think I'm making progress! "
Now that was Funny.
