"When the student is ready the teacher appears". Been wanting to look at fresh new approaches to playing my blues and then stumbled onto Robert. Seen a lot of blues teachers but none like Robert. I am amazed at the depth and detail of all lessons not to mention the excellent demeanor and skill of the instructor. Glad to be a part of this for this season in my life. Thank you Robert for bringing forth this treasure trove of jewels opening new doors to the blues otherwise hidden and unknown. It's a joy to open up a new lesson and pluck the fruit off the vine.
Welcome to the MGA @halv1! Robert's instruction was a turning point in moving up the long ladder of intermediate. I'm still there but definitely much higher than where I started, and the good time of recording and sharing made a huge difference in my skills and perspectives.
There was a time when I stopped trying to sound like someone else and just began playing who I was.
Yesss! Yes, yes...
Hello, halv1 - nice to meet you! Thank you for that introduction. I am very thankful for the kind words!
What style of blues (or any music) do you prefer?
Feel free to post some clips if you do any recordings. We are supportive bunch here.
Thanks, Robert. I am so enjoying your very well thought out lessons and backing tracks and the Soundslice is amazing actually. The way you assemble your note by note training videos is nothing short of amazing.
I am learning your Slow 60 Blues as of now and am looking to expand my style of playing. I like Jive Blues, Grunge Blues, Rock Blues, Traditional Blues. I have never been a well structured player...mostly whatever comes out in the moment.... and theory has definitely not been my strength. I am looking to improve in those areas. Also looking to break out of the minor pentatonic box some....not too much because that's where I live really. Thanks again.
Regarding my music...I do have a couple of albums out....here are a few of my original recordings on YouTube. My wife Paula made the videos to go along with the music. All music is recorded by yours truly. God Bless you and I pray for your good health.
Harold.

@halv1 I really enjoyed the YouTube postings for Anticipation and River. Lots of tone and feel.
@clayton Thank you. I am currently studying Robert's theory lesson on Scales You Can Use. Such excellent lessons. Getting a lot out of them. Cheers!
Hi there. Gosh, I really miss fishing on the Mississippi River in Illinois . Maybe you know Rock Island ? Caught some nice spoonbill back in them days. I don't think many are left any more in the river.
Been to Rock Island area many many years ago but don't remember it much as I was there briefly passing through on business....never fished it...caught perch and bass growing up in Louisiana but not much of a fisherman.....thanks for the hello...maybe write a song about fishing in Rock Island....could have potential! Cheers!!
Thanks for posting - good jams and lots of emotion in your playing!
