Hi Everyone,
Mostly a bass player who picked up guitar again recently. I thought I would only be interested in learning jazz and picked up a Burny ES335 copy about three years ago (still love that guitar) but started hearing so many great guitarists and sounds, fell in love with the Stratocaster and have been playing that through a Marshall amp the past year. My favorite guitarist is Oz Noy, I just can't get enough of that guy but I am constantly hearing other guys and being introduced to other great players. I saw a few of the Master Guitar videos on Youtube while working with a guitar teacher but had to scale back on lessons due to time. I thought it would be great to see how I do with internet lessons while I'm on hiatus from personal lessons the next six months to a year.
I still play bass but I pretty much only practice guitar these days. I filled in for a guitarist at a church about a year ago and now I play regularly there. I just keep learning stuff every week and trying to apply it. I get overwhelmed by too many options so I'm probably going to try to pick a roadmap to follow from all the courses available. Looking forward to "meeting" everyone and getting more involved in the community here.
Hello mstott25,
Welcome to MGA. You sounds like a musical guy that knows how to get busy and learn new things. We're all here to learn as well. As you already know Robert is a great instructor and inspiring player. I think you will enjoy being here with us and will learn a lot.
Hi and welcome! Oz Noy is a guy whose playing I like a LOT as well! I love his weirdness - it's so hip.
Sounds like you are probably a pretty advanced player then. I do hope you find some of the material interesting.
Post a clip of your playing anytime! Would love to hear you.
My favorite guitarist is Oz Noy, I just can't get enough of that guy
Welcome, to MGA. I found Oz on Truefire and enjoy his funky takes on music.
And welcome from another bass player turned six-stringer.
Welcome mstott25...Greetings from Barcelona!!!!
