Recorded this morning with Creative Soundblaster K3+ using a backing track I purchased.
Hope you like this. Comments welcomed.
Super job. Nice work on the bends and double stops. Great tone too! I think you have earned the nickname Hank!
I like it a lot! That's such a lovely tune. One of my favourites.
You play it very well. The only thing I suggest is the timing can be tightened up a little bit. Maybe try playing along with this one. It's actually quite hard to get the timing perfect, but overall I think you did great!
@jamwithlaw, thanks for posting this and nice job. And your posting this was an encouragement and motivator for me. This has always been a "bucket list" song for me. My wife loves this song and someday I hope to play it for her.
Again, great job and thanks for posting.
Glad you like that. Go or it man. Don't wait till tomorrow. I am still recovering from my right shoulder rotator cuff operation , yet I resumed playing the guitar the moment Surgeon said I can play slow music.
Man, that is classic good stuff. Thanks for sharing and inspiring here at MGA. This is a bucket list tune as well. 👍👍
I have just stepped into the reverb appreciation club, and seeing just how many ways this effect affects song, sound and dynamics.
Leo Fender changed the world... a lot.
@jamwithlaw and @JestMe it is a 2020 goal. Too many other goals to say I will start it tomorrow. ("Jingle Bell Blues" #1, and "Thrill is Gone" and songs for my weekly jam are on the "chart" ahead of it. But it will move up when the time is right.
@Clayton I have a very simple policy when it comes to reverb: "There is no such thing as too much reverb" 😆 😉 Maybe a result of that permanent brain damage as a result of ceaseless surf songs in the 60's? If reverb sounds as if one is in a huge underground cavern that was at one time the filming location of a James Bond movie, PERFECT!
But I am, presently, sans reverb! At least using my tube amp. I use a Fender Blues Jr. 3 and it routinely goes out. I have to take it in and get the chamber replaced. No doubt a casualty of (dusty) country living.
So I either use the multi-effects (POD HD500X) or I am seriously thinking I should look at a reverb pedal, probably TC electronics Hall of Fame.
Ron
We'll be looking forward to hearing your rendition some time next year! I'm sure you will do a great job with it!
Ron, it was the tank reverb and tremolo on my recently acquired 65 Princeton Tweed Reissue that stirred my interest in quality reverb. And yes, the reverb tank on my Hot Rod DeVille is nice but it's also subject to failing. So I set upon a reasonably priced Reverb pedal. Got down to TC Hall of Fame and MXR Reverb. MXR won bc of the additional flavors that spoke to me, and Wow that MXR Reverb inspires.
Well I'm just getting into the tall grass but now I see the utility of Reverb everywhere, where, where.
