Hi there ..... my name is Mike and I’m here trying to improve my guitar playing. Although I’ve always loved rock, I’m really enjoying the blues lately. I can remember the first time I heard Bonomassa playing Blues Deluxe and thinking “ where has this guy been”! I really feel the need to kick back and play some serious guitar and hope this site helps with my efforts.

Welcome aboard. It's a very friendly group so feel free to make comments, ask questions and/or post videos of yourself playing.
There are tons of blues lessons and courses and jam tracks, so have at it and have fun.

Mike , welcome to the MGA and the place to improve how you play. Be sure to dig into some strong rhythm lessons and the solo work will come much easier. Yep, and record, record, and record some more- it is one of the best ways to improved musicianship!

Mike, welcome to you. And, yes, as Chris offered, this is a friendly group without so much of the drama one experiences at other forums.
Like you, I considered myself a "rock guy" for years (decades if honest!). Until I started trying to learn guitar and came to find out all those rock guys I love (Santana, Clapton, Zep, ZZ Top, and Bonamassa) are playing blues! Maybe it's amped up blues but it is still blues at the soul.
