Hello,  I just joined to day.   Looking forward to learning and engaging with fellow guitarist.   I play both eclectic and acoustic guitar.  My musical interest includes all genres.   I found this j group from one of Roberts's YouTube video he de on Funk strumming.  I like how the lesson was given and decided to check out the website.    Currently I have the free membership before I become a paying member.  I am wondering how sound slice works and if it will aid me on my journey.  Any welcome I am glad to be here and if you get a chance be sure to say hello I am always up to discuss guitar and everything about it.

😀

Hello Blaze and welcome to the forum.

You asked about Soundslice and I can only tell you that it is an incredibly helpful practice tool that Robert offers to learn his songs.

You can play the videos, have the notation on the screen in front of you at the same time and the audio is synchronized with the notation. You can set the speed individually and also loop to work on specific bars and play along at the same time.

I've already learned a lot with it here and I'm very grateful for this tool.

Robert offers a large selection of songs in different genres. There is a lot to discover and Robert also explains things incredibly well. You will certainly benefit from a membership.

Speaking of “engaging with fellow guitarists”: Have a look at what the MGA jammers do, where interested MGA members practise a song that is then put together via a shared backing track. You can find our Jam 6 here in the recent posts.

Enjoy learning and playing.

Many greetings from Switzerland,

Birgit

Hi Blaze and thanks for stopping by!

Soundslice is a great tool for learning, that's for sure.

What type of music and artists are your favourite?

@Blaze214 Welcome to you!  In addition to Robert's voluminous lessons (Have you looked at the course list?!) there are some very knowledgeable, helpful members on here as well.

Please keep us posted on your progress, please.

Blaze214 Welcome to MGA!  You and I are neighbors, I'm living north of Baltimore, Maryland.  Good to see another player with a broad palette of genres.

Whereabouts in Virginia are you encamped?

And, do you ever get to play out- open mic, gigs, jam sessions?
