Hi there
I am a beginner / intermediate guitar player dad trying to keep up with my 4 kids way better in music than I am.
My music taste shifts to more "heavy" rock the older my kids get and currently I am a fan of Tool, Rival Sons, Green Day etc. When it comes to playing guitar I like SRV, Eric Clapton and the Kings.
I learn and practice the most when I have a solo or part of a song rather than just licks. In the past I bought a few courses but I only worked on the solos so far. My setup is streamlined so that I can start practicing in a minute to squeeze in 15min here and there.

Welcome to you. If you have four kids I can understand the need to streamline your set-up!! You have come to the right place to learn.

Yeah I think 4 kids can keep you busy but... it sounds like ytou could make a nice quintet!

It also means a lot of driving and the 80k piano has to be paid off as well - my gear is cheap in comparison

All are gear is cheap when we have to bring it into the pawnshop. I got a few good prices on a couple of guitars at the pawnshop, but then again, I know what it is to walk in a pawnshop with a guitar too.
