Hi All,
I'm Skip Buran. I started playing guitar in 1964. I had previously had a couple of years of piano, played drums in the Jr High band and sang in chorus. I am self taught, can read some but usually don't. Use tab a lot. I've played in bands in my hometown of Pensacola in college, off and on in my career, and most recently in a '60s cover band in Memphis, TN. I've retired and relocated to Columbus. May try to play out in the future.
Influences: Brit invasion, Clapton, 60s era soul, blues. All Tom Petty. All Creedence. I'm pretty eclectic, but not into metal at all. Too old, I guess
Equipment:
Amps: 1981 Peavy Classic, Vox VT, new Vox MV50 AC (love it) and Fender Blues Jr.
Guitars: 1981 Ibanez AR50, Ovation elec/acoustic, Fender American Std Strat, Squier Vintage Mod Jazzmaster, D'Angelico Excel DC.
Usual pedal board setup. Don't need anything exotic for what I play
Welcome Skip! Make yerself at home.
Hope to hear you play - submit some clips if you can!

Hey Skip, nice to meet ya!
Welcome from down under mate! 😀
Welcome, Skip! That's a fine pedigree of playing time and influences. We have a fair group of players who will share and inspire each other on the Forum, so please feel at home, and share some of those southern style's with us.
Clayton, Charm City- Baltimore
Thanks, Robert.
Thanks!
Hi, Skip, from a fellow Georgian. (Atlanta). I also came over to guitar from piano, but I've only been playing the six strings as opposed to 88 keys for four years, almost.
I'm 66, but have an even more eclectic taste in music/guitar. That includes metal rock (as long as it's not over done). Welcome!
