Hi Everyone, It has been a while since I have signed up for Guitar lessons, 1982 infact. I decided then not to become a professional musician and became a guitar maker instead. Of course I still love playing and would be great to improve my playing.

Looking forward to proving that you can teach an old dog new licks (tricks).

Jim

Jim

Welcome aboard and welcome back to the guitar playing world.

Your building expertise will be valued. Actually, there are at least 2 others here who have done some building. Esteban has made a couple of awesome electric guitars and I myself have made an acoutic guitar, and sometimes think about trying my hand at building [maybe assembling] an electric guitar.

Anyway, good luck with your playing there are loads of great lessons to be worked on here. Dig in and have fun!

Hi JR and welcome aboard.

Post a few pictures of the guitars you've made. I think we'd all love to see them.

Hi Everyone,

Thankyou for the warm welcome.

This is the last guitar I finished.

IMG 0671

It is 00 Style steel string. Kermode (Lutz) Spruce, Amazon Rosewood Back and Sides and Ebony fingerboard with a compound radius. 12" - 16" and Gotoh 510 tuners. I like it for Jerry Reed tunes.

Happy to answer any questions how it was put together.

Cheers

Jim

It is a beautiful guitar for sure. Looks like a great fingerstyle guitar!

Do you play Jerry Reed tunes on it?

Do you have a website?

@jestme

Hi, I try to but not very well as I have never really felt comfortable with a thumb pick.  The best Jerry Reed song I play is Jiffy Jam.

You must be doing something right, playing wise, thumb pick or not! Jerry Reed is no slouch of a player! It seems you are indeed a good luthier and a good picker!
