Hello all,
Hi everyone,
My name is Bill. I've been playing for over 50 years. Like many in my generation, I started out after watching The Beatles on Ed Sullivan. I started out playing bass and switched to lead playing rock and blues in several working bands. Then I got hooked on acoustic guitar and dove into a sound hole and haven't come out yet. Still learning, playing and collecting vintage acoustic guitars. I still play out some but not as much as I used to. I just love music and learning. I've always had an electric or two and dabbled from time to time but most of my playing was acoustic.
I perform St. James Infirmary acoustically. I was browsing different versions on You Tube and somehow found a clip of Robert's lesson. I bought the lesson and dove in. Now I play it both electric (in Dm) and acoustically (in Am, which better suits my voice) and have incorporated some of Robert's solos on the acoustic. I enjoyed the lessons so much I decided to buy a full membership and am looking forward to doing as many of the lessons as I can. It's also rekindled my interest in electric and I've been splitting my playing between the two. It’s nice to be getting my electric chops back.
My son is a multi-instrumentalist and plays with me on trumpet, euphonium, flugelhorn, trombone, piano, guitar and mandolin. It’s great to have another musician in the family!
Here’s some of my current instrument stable:

Greetings back to you from your neighbor to the north... I'm in Southern NH.
I grew up outside of Boston, though would question whether I have really grown up yet!
Where about are you locates? Are you a native to Boston area?
You have a great collection of guitars there. Most of which I am familiar with. The one I am not familiar with is the Probett Rocket III. I Googled it. Looks like it is a nice guitar, one that doesn't quite fit into my wallet well.
Welcome aboard the MGA Rocket. Hope you find everything you are looking for. Best regards
Hi Chris and Ivan,
Thanks for the kind words.
I live in Andover. I was born in Haverhill and moved to Plaistow, NH as a kid and stayed through high-school. Moved around a bit and ended up back in Massachusetts.
Not too many folks have heard of Damian's guitars. They are amazing instruments. Mine has a humbucker at the bridge and P90's at the neck and in the middle. It's a very versatile guitar.
Cheers,
flugelhorn.... not a common word but I just invoked it last weekend. Sounds like a talented family.
Welcome, to the MGA, we have a good family here and there's always room for more. Be sure to post some recordings to share the musicianship, and dont hesitate to ask for or offer insights.
Have you seen Blind Boy Paxton play?
Welcome Bill! Great to have you here. I have to admit, looking at your gear list has me drooling a bit. Handkerchief anyone?
Post recordings often!
Thanks for the warm welcome!

I feel fortunate to be their caretaker for a while. I don't really buy for investments, I just look for what I want to play.
From one Bill to another, welcome!
