Guitar, amp, effects?
You probably know what I use. Fenders, Hagstroms, a sweet Ramos guitar, a Suhr, usually into a Suhr Badger 18, Reverend Hellhound combo, Fender Pro Jr or a Samamp VAC-30. Regarding effects, well I have a lot of pedals. Too many.
I like to just use a nice overdrive pedal into a tube amp for blues, maybe some reverb and delay from a Line 6 M9. I also use some vibe or leslie type sounds now and then, and maybe a wah-wah. I have to say it's not that often I hook up a bunch of pedals together and actually use them all... I think I will do more of that for my future lessons though, perhaps how to create a Hendrix type of tone, or rockabilly tone, etc. It's fun to experiment and good to learn how to set up gear for certain tones.
Sometimes I use a Line 6 HD500X into the computer, but it also sounds nice into the computer. Well not as good as a great tube amp. No modelers do that in my opinion. It's the "feel" that is hard to reproduce with digital technology. I think it has a lot to do with the speaker factor. A good 4x12 cabinet just has a big "guitar sound" compared to the kind of speakers that are connected to most computers... anyway, perhaps I should start a different thread about tube amps vs modeling amps - fun topic!
So what do you use?
You've got some great gear Robert and always sound great.
As for amps I have...
- Vox Valvetronic 50 - a hybrid with 1 tube in the preamp stage and fully digital amp
- Fender Mustang III v2 - Fully digital am[
- Monoprice - 15 watt all tube amp
Mostly though I am playing through my computer using a Line 6 UX1 and Pod Farm 2
I have two guitars. A Fender Classic Player's 60 Strat and an older Hagstrom Viking semi hollow.
Normally I use a digital 100 watt Mustang III modelling amp that I use for recording, straight into my computer via on board USB hookup.
Just recently Ive started to experiment with micing my amp. Ive been using a Shure SM57 mic through a Fosusrite Solo audio interface and into my computer.
Still in the early experimenting stages but I think it sounds a little better than straight digital. Time will tell.
For guitars, the following: 2013 PRS Paul's, 1972 Gibson ES-325, 2012 Fender American Standard Stratocaster, 2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe, 2015 Epiphone Casino Coupe, Walden G740CE, 2012 Yamaha Pacifica
For amps, the following: Fender Blues Junior III, Boss Eband JS-10, and I recently purchased a POD HD500X which I don't know if I will ever figure out.
Plus 6 or 8 pedals that, if I figure out the POD, I will probably sell.
So bottom line, I have gear that I will never be able to do justice to lol
Allow me to introduce my gear:
Guitars: Fender American Stratocaster, Framus Camarillo Custom, Takamine and Ibanez Acoustic
Amps: Marshall Vintage Modern 2466, Line6 DT25
Several effects
The Line6 sounds very cool at low volume, especially the clean section. It's perfect for me for practising at home. Also for recordings at home with my POD HD500 it's a real good combination.
But my main Amp ist the Marshall Vintage Modern, which sounds really big. It is very sensitive for Volume knob action on the Strat, really cool. I use an old school effect board with several gear, for example a Fulltone GT500, EHX Small Stone, Ibanez Weeping Demon etc. I use the Fulltone and the Wah before my amp, all others in the effects loop.
So as you can see I prefer the analog stuff. 😉
tbc....
Hey Kessi, that's some cool gear you have there. Love your Fender Strat.
I'm not a pedal person so when I see something like your board it amazes me. I would be spending all my time tweaking tones looking for the magic sauce. I have a modelling amp with too many choices and that's bad enough.
Anyway, looking forward to hearing some of those different effects.
The Weeping Demon- I have never heard of such pedal. The Marshall amp is interesting, too.
I have accumulated gear, not enough gear, but more than necessary, fueled by 2 practice amps that hold their own: Fender Superchamp x2, and Blackstar HT-5R; and 2 full size amps: Mustang. III v2, and Deville 2x12. Pedaltrain board w Voodoo power block, 105Q wah, Carl Martin compressor limiter, dunlop univibe, EVH phase, wampler fuzz and sovereign, Fulltone OCD, Maxxon OD9 tubescreamer, Mxr carbon copy, and digitech jamman looper.
Taylor acoustics, Fender Am Strat & Tele, PRS SE custom 24 and Tremonti custom.. Dont get me started about my bass gear.
I had a lot of Wah Pedals before. The Weeping Demon has a big advantage: it is an" instant on" pedal, means as soon as you put your foot on it and press it's on. Release and it's off. Not sure, but I guess it's true bypass. I often use only some notes with wah during a solo. For this I found the weeping demon one of the best pedals available. Good night so far.

You all have some great gear!
I've got four guitars, starting with an acoustic Fender F15, an Ovation Custom Legend, a Music Man EVH, but my go-to is a Fender Shiflett Tele-deluxe. I love that guitar most of all. It just does the job in every way!
I am running thorough a 60 watt, Roland Blues Cube Stage with a Robben Ford Tone Capsule which I really like. This amp takes pedals really well BTW, and even though I have a closet full of pedals, I run clean with just a touch of reverb most often.
As for pedals, I have setup a small Holeyboard M3 Amptop pedal board with a Walrus Aetos power supply. Small and to the point, the chain starts with a TC Polytune Mini, Crowther Hot Cake OD, Mr. Black JDS-50 OD (I just swapped out from a Cult Germanium OD), a Walrus Julia Chorus and ends with a TC Ditto Looper.
As for cables, I like the Mogami Platinum series cables, but (shameless plug warning) I picked up a Rattlesnake 20' cable from 6-months ago and it is fantastic. I love the quality.
Cheers all!

I have a '64 Gibson acoustic and a 2014 ES 339, a Fender G-Dec amp, and DigiTech JamMan SoloXT. Pretty simple compared to the outstanding setup described here.
Anybody have any suggestions for an audio interface to connect to GarageBand?
Thanks.
Focusrite Scarlett for usb interface recording is a quality bargain.
Thanks, Clayton, I'll check it. You all pushed me over the edge into GarageBand. Quite a nice piece of software. I can see how this can be addicting.
It is addictive. The initial curve is not so intuitive but it makes for a fun practice space.
Be sure to post questions in the Recording thread.

Well, I have not too much stuff...
Guitars: Melody in Blue, made by myself in a Luthier course and a Kevster series by Ramos guitars. Also, still I have my old Japanese Fender Stratocaster from 1986 (not squire). My black guitar...it is a demon!!!!.
Also, I have a El Dorado George Amp....a very 15W amp, valves of course, A class and handwired.
A few pedals, mainly two wampler (spring reverb and Euphoria Ecstasy), a fantastic DD7, a awesome Blackstar HT Dual and a Peterson Stomp Classic Tuner.
My recordings? very simple: a Roland Quad-Capture UA-55 to my computer and Guitar Rig or Garage Band. Nothing else.
