Robert, I just purchased SongSurgeon5 on your recommendation. Thanks for the discount. Every little bit help us out-of-work "mujicians." LOL. It's fully installed, and I downloaded their plethora of tutorial videos, but haven't played with any of it yet.
I've been looking at ads and reviews for the Spark (practice amp) from PositiveGrid. While I have a Line6 75 watt AmpliFi modeling amp, the Spark looks smaller (40 watt, plenty for home) and more transportable (with gig bag), which is what I want for future days when I can't take my AmpliFi with me.
Have you played with one or have any thoughts on this mini-beast?
Thanks for your expert input!
Dan, on another forum, the Sparks amps have some good comments about them. I just bought 2 new amps and one is a 7 watt Boss Katana and the other is a Fender 40 studio amp with a bunch of toys on it. I'm happy with both amps. The Boss can use batteries which makes it nice to pan handle for money while busking. LOL
Dan, I have Song Surgeon and love it. The only software that I have that I probably love more is Video Surgeon, Song Surgeon's big brother. I doubt that there is a day that goes by that I don't use one of these.
Regarding the Spark I don't have it. I have seriously considered it and may "click" soon. As @hillbilly_joe said, I have seen a lot of rave reviews in forums. Initially there was a lot of complaining about delayed shipments. It seems that the company took a lot of initial orders and then floated those funds to get the product out the door. At least that are some claims. But whether or not that is true has little impact on how it would serve you. Now that people have it in the music room the reports seem overwhelmingly positive. One guy in my weekly (back when there were weekly) jam group just ordered it and is scheduled to get it Friday. Hopefully, I will know more after he has used it a bit.
I do have a Spark! It's pretty cool for practicing. I have a lesson where I used it -
