How do you feel about this? The initial price point for the instrument is set at $2,299 USD, though it stands to reason that an entry-level PRS SE version might be in the cards at some later date.

I found it kind of funny. John used to be a Fender artist. Now, PRS made him what is basically a typical Strat but with a different headstock... 🙂

I'm assuming that's what Mayer wanted, and that's what they built for him. I am willing to bet, up close that is a nice guitar. If I wasn't retired, I would get one. Maybe they will do a tele style as well. That would be cool....Will

PRS makes quality guitars, USA and SE, with playability and innovation. They needed a single pole pickup configuration in the lineup offering.
That said, the headstock is stripes on polka dots.

As you can well imagine, the PRS forum is fairly abuzz about the new John Mayer guitar. The official thread is about 800 posts long.
This is from an unofficial thread called "Questions you shouldn't ask PRS about the new John Mayer Guitar".
"I have a Warmoth body. Can I get a neck of the Silver Sky to put on it?
I have a Squire Affinity Strat. Can I get some Silver Sky pickups to put in?
