I just couldn't pass up this buy. A 1980 Tokai, Japanese made CE-180 "Cat's Eye" model acoustic guitar that is in really good shape.
I was going to lower the height of the strings a bit, but changed my mind after putting on new strings. Here are some pictures of cleaning and changing the strings. I put the sales receipt on the guitar because I really don't think anyone would believe me.
I'll do some recordings using it soon.
I also got a new Fender acoustical guitar strap for about 9 bucks and that too sure is a bargain.
Congrats, looking forward to hearing it!
Gotta play some Cat Steven's on that beauty. Congrats on New Gear Day!

I'm not sure if the computer mic can pickup any sound. I have reaper and maybe it won't pickup sound, don't know but I most want to record something. Yes, I put 8's on it. Some say I'll loose much of the tone, well, maybe so. But I want to buy a pickup for it. Maybe a Dean Markley woody.

The strings height is a bit high, but putting lighter strings on it helped out a lot. It truly is a fine guitar. 38 years old and not even a scratch on the surface. The neck is not bowed either. For 30 bucks, I had to buy it. Also I didn't have an acoustical guitar so now I have one. Had one some years ago, but it ended up in the pawnshop. lol actually I wasn't laughing at the time.
