Hey I would recommend using a midi keyboard and virtual bass sounds. I use a plugin called Scarbee for the bass tone -  https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/guitar/scarbee-mm-bass/

You don't even need a midi keyboard - you can enter the note with the mouse. I usually do that... 🙂
