I saw the Trio pedal dropped to $50 US last week and decided to give this little Band in a Box pedal a try.  Play a chord progression and Trio learns and plays back bass n drum backing track that can be adjusted to multiple genres and a dozen variations within each genre.  Blend in the bass or drum with separate volume controls, add in a touch of amp effect for your guitar signal depending on genre, and you can even listen with direct jack to headphones (volume adjustable, too).  Really a great practice aid, up and running in seconds.   There's even more features but in a few minutes of play I found a truly plug n play jam buddy that follows your cues.  Bring up the band and practice, practise, practise in a small package.  Even comes with a power supply.

Two thumbs up for this little bargain practice partner.

Yes, just got one too and really enjoy it, I though it's best alternative to BeatBuddy.

Excellent- I have a witness!  I really enjoy the ease of plug play and get down to playing with the beat and changes.  Keeps an honest practice and inspires ideas.

And Welcome to the MGA!  I have the FS3X footswitch for changing song sections and changing srtyle options in a genre.

What I really like as the extra bonus is the portability as a headphone amp.  Throw it in your gig bag and you can practice with the band or just the variable drummer anywhere you can find a power source.

Maybe I should get one and use it for some MGA lessons? I mean I can make better tracks on the computer but it might be useful for some students if I use just the pedal, because then it's easier for them to reproduce. Not everyone has all the fancy software that I have, for creating tracks.

Robert, its a good practice tool and idea grabber.  Works as an expanded metronome by applying different drum genre's and styles.  Now, the part if find mundane is the bass lines, but if the main idea is to have the bass outlining the chord changes you play, then it serves the purpose well.  The pricing makes this grab and play pedal irresistible.
