Ok, so I have way more stuff than I need, but I just got an Axe FX II Ultra XL+ (ooh, long name).

So you way wonder why? Well, because I find that I spend too much time fiddling around with amps and pedals when I make a video. With this unit, I get great tone, faster. 🙂

I got it yesterday, and I'm more excited than I thought I'd be. That's because this things sounds fantastic! Wow. I guess you will hear me use it from now on (once I figure out how I will best utilize it).

The only drawback is that it is quite expensive. On the other hand, it's like having hundreds of fantastic sounding amp/cab/pedal/effect combinations, in which perspective is very inexpensive.

So would I recommend it? For sure, but I would even recommend the little brother AX8 more, because it's cheaper and would be more suitable for a guitar student.

What I love about it is that the feel when playing through it is stellar. It feels like a real amp, which is hard to explain. The dynamic feel, touch responsiveness, etc you get on a high end tube amp - it's in there. Incredible.

If you were thinking about about some fancy boutique amp for playing at home, I'd say you are better off buying the AX8, which may cost less and give you hundreds of tones that are even better.

I have not tried the Line 6 Helix, but I know Chuck likes it better. Definitely worth looking at that one too.

Merry Christmas to you, Indeed!  Easy to say, you can certainly put it to use, and you deserve to be heard the way you want.   Looking forward to hearing some future tunes from the new toy.
