Thanks! Yes, I used my thumb and index finger. I think I need to work a bit on muting unwanted string noise. That was a challenge too with the finger-technique apart from the rhythm. But the contrast between the soft sound of the thumb and the more "twangy" sound of the index finger is cool.
Michael
Excellent job. You got some good fingers there. Nice tone and playing. Well done!
Michael, that is excellent! I love the sound you are getting - very close to the one I got for the lesson. What amp, pedal and guitar did you use?
Not much to critique - it was almost perfect! Only the slight string noise issue perhaps, but that's all I could hear. It DOES sound cool with dem fingers ay!
Thanks! Nice to post a recording and already have people commenting it! That's what's so cool about this forum!
Regarding the sound - It must be the semi-hollow body design of my epiphone es-335 pro that resembles that of your Hagstrom. I had it on the neck position with the coil splitting on. That sound was just impossible to get with my solid-bodies. The guitar signal was processed through my irig hd2/amplitube setup, so no real amp or pedals, only modelling. I used the twin reverb amp like you mentioned with a compressor and some slight overdrive. And then recorded everything in the same program.
Now that's a cure for the summertime Blues- really nice playing, Michael! And done on a fairly clean tone that means it is all player skills. Throw a little more dirt on that amp and let the smoke fly off those fingers!
Keep up the great work and keep sharing- it helps everyone.
Today I worked it through this wonderful admirable Reconsidering Blues by R.R. I stepped in here to talk about it, now I see: Everything I wanted to say is said. I love these Clapton like licks, especially Lick No. 10 & 11, the melodic 21 & 21-licks up to the double stops and the way these doublestops are dissolved. Great, I love it. Thank you, Robert!!!
