Yeah- this is fantastic lesson material.  Cool combination of classic blues, edgy to aggressive tone and attack tempered with some easing and trailing off at the end of some phrases.  And it's EC.

You guys are posting some awesome licks and sections.

Esteban, nice job on your take. I like the "MGA notes"!

Ivan, you have great timing as always. Subtle changes in the licks compared to mine, which as you know is perfectly fine. Wonder if all of you notice slight differences? Those are most valuable additions to what I've provided. Keep that up as long as it sounds good.

Hey it works with a pick too. I hope to hear someone try with their fingers too! Sure makes it harder! 🙂

I'd like to hear Ivan use a bit more overdrive, for more authentic growl and nastiness... 😀

Thanks Robert.

Appreciate the comments and advice. On my next take I'll add growl. At least I'll try to.

I've managed to get some practice on this material the last two days using thumb and two fingers for some pop n bite, through humbuckers, a Fulltone OCD and into a clean Blackstar HT5R.  I have the gist and some good tones but not near accurate on duplicating the licks as played- y'know I ultimately end up playing my version instead of the notes on the page.  Now that the banging has stopped for the weekend maybe I can wind up the Macbook Pro and hit record for a few bars.  Been a while since I posted and my comrades are carrying the load.

This is a fun lesson with lots of return for the effort.

Looking forward to that Clayton. "Your version" always has that creative touch and that makes it intesting and unique. That's music by friend.......bring it on!

Here's my second 12 bars of this solo (24 bars). I slowed it down a bit. I wanted to try and get those tricky licks down as close as I can, particularly the free form one.....# 13 in the second 12 bars. I also added overdrive to this one as per Robert's suggestions.

That is awesome, Ivan- I mean really damned impressive playing!  The phrasing on this is a serious challenge and getting all those licks to memory and played in succession requires a lot of work and innate understanding of the song.  Talk about watching your playing rise up.  I think you have smashed the accordion and taken that young man to a place on the blues stage.

Big Congratulations for your perseverance in this song and all the work that got you to this point!

Thanks Esteban and Clayton.

This is a tricky one but a cool one to have under the fingers. A lot of work to do yet. Hopefully I can get it up to speed as I work on the last 12 bars and than it'll go  on the development track for the long term. I'm hoping to mix it up with my hybrid solo down the road and come up with something of my own.

Thanks gents! Always appreciate the feedback and supprort.

Who doesn't experience the same? I have been trying to record something since 1 week now, to let you guys hear my new Strat, but whenever I'm satisfied with my playing, the recording sucks and vice versa  😉

Wish I was as far as you are.

cheers

Frank

Whoa Ivan! Whoa! Did you hear me say WHOA!?

That is stellar, bud! Sounds so good. Only thing I would suggest is try adding a little more reverb to your guitar. I like overdriven sound better than the superclean tone. What did you use for overdrive? I like it the way it sounds now just fine, but I'd also be curious to hear it somewhere in between clean and this tone... not a request though - it's really great already.

Well done! You are putting that bar way up there. It's inspiring. To all of you, don't worry if you are not quite there yet - it's not a competition! I appreciate hearing folks of any skill level, so don't be shy.
